Areas of Practice

Criminal Law

When facing criminal charges of any kind, it’s critical to have representation that is experienced and well-versed in the intricacies of the law. At Susman Law, we pride ourselves on our ability to navigate complex legal issues to help you fully understand your rights and options. We work for and with you to analyze the facts and achieve the best possible legal outcome.

Family Law

Our expertise in family court matters and is something that truly sets us apart. We will represent you whether you are a mother, father, child or relative. Ben Susman proudly represents children in all family court matters, including custody, juvenile delinquency, and matters falling under the recent Raise the Age law.

Family Court is stressful and confusing for the entire family. By approaching the children as more of a ‘counselor’ than another authority figure, Ben is able to help the kids feel comfortable and help them understand what’s going on. He has been appointed and trained by the New York State Supreme Court to serve as an “AFC” (Attorney for Child).

Real Estate

For sellers, we prepare contracts, deeds, transfer documents and closing documents. We explain to sellers the financial figures and communicate with their real estate agent to assist in the sale.

For buyers, we review contracts and make necessary changes to protect their rights. We perform title work, deal with your lender if necessary, attend the closing, review documents with the purchaser and record the deed.

Social Security

Most people who go through the process of applying for SSDI or SSI will be denied the first time. Those who take the time to appeal the decision improve their chances of getting their case heard by an administrative law judge (ALJ) and ultimately getting approved for benefits. We, at Susman Law, have the compassion, experience and understanding needed to guide you through this process.
